Som mange sikkert ved, så har jeg deltaget i et fotoshoot, stablet på benene af Morten Svane. Det er der kommet følgende artikler ud af på Inside Fitness og på MetroXpress. Jeg vil gerne knytte et par personlige kommentarer til artiklen.
Hvad er fitness for mig?
Morten skriver: “Da jeg lagde et ‘behind the scenes’-billede op fra photoshootet på min Instagramprofil, fik jeg denne kommentar fra en kvinde:”
“Vi taler om fitness ikke mode – synes faktisk det er mere end i orden at det er de trænede kvinder der skal reklamere for sporten… Ikke sagt det ikke er smukke kvinder du har arbejdet med, men de er måske ikke lige det jeg forbinder med fit…”
Ovenstående er et perfekt eksempel på nutidens ideal for en trænet/fit krop, hvor man jo nærmest skal være sceneklar for at være fit. Jeg forstår udemærket, hvad kvinden mener og jo fitness kan sagtens være kvinden med en lav fedtprocent, hvor hver en muskel springer én i øjnene og jeg synes, at det er sejt! Det er sejt at være kvinde med sixpack og super markerede muskler. Men det er blot én side af begrebet fitness og det er ærgerligt, at det efterhånden kun er det aspekt, der definerer fitness. Alle kvinderne der deltog i shootet er TRÆNEDE og fitness er et begreb med flere aspekter og facetter. Men hvad er fitness så for mig?
Jep, sådan ser fitte piger altså også ud!
Jeg anser mig selv som værende FIT, som i virkelig fit, hvis jeg altså selv skal sige det og jeg har altså hverken lav fedtprocent eller sixpack! Det lyder måske ganske selvhøjtideligt, men jeg er på mange måder en Superwoman. Jeg er stærkere end Pippi Langstrømpe og kan squatte mere end mange mænd. Jeg kan følge med mændene i min familie (som altså også er ganske fitte) på 1,5 times mountainbike bonanza og jeg kan være med på to timers banecykling med nogle vildt seje cykelpiger (det var dog lidt meget hårdt). Jeg kan stille op i en CrossFit konkurrence og faktisk lave et ganske tilfredsstillende resultat, til trods for at jeg faktisk ikke træner CrossFit. Hvis det ikke også er fitness, så ved jeg ikke hvad det er!
Fitness er for mig at have en krop, som er i stand til at fuldføre de opgaver man stiller den. Uanset om man vil stille op i en fitnesskonkurrence, vil løbe et maraton, vil være stærkere end alle drengene tilsammen, være den mest smidige yogamus, vinde CrossFit konkurrencer osv. Der er altså ikke kun en måde at være fit på og dermed ikke kun en måde, en fit krop ser ud på. På billederne er der både piger der har stillet op i fitnesskonkurrencer, der er piger som konkurrerer i at være stærke og piger som nyder træning og en sund livsstil, uden ambitioner om at skulle stille op i konkurrencer.
Nu tænker du sikkert: “Hende Pernille hun er bare helt nede med sin krop og drømmer aldrig om en sixpack og var bare totalt afslappet med at få taget billeder i undertøj”. Men det er heller ikke helt sandt. Jeg har dage, hvor jeg synes, jeg er den lækreste i verden, når jeg ser min krop i spejlet og hvor jeg absolut ikke vil lave noget om, hvis jeg kunne. Men jeg har altså også dage, hvor jeg forestiller mig, hvordan jeg ville se ud med en sixpack og en lavere fedtprocent. Jeg bliver bedre og bedre til at slappe mere af med min krop og er ikke længere (ikke så ofte hvertfald), ved at få et hysterisk anfald, når jeg har spist bland selv slik.
Og ja, det var grænseoverskridende at stille op til et photoshoot i undertøj. Man føler sig virkelig eksponeret, men omvendt, hvis man advokerer for, at piger skal elske deres trænede krop, lav fedtprocent eller ej, så skal man altså også kunne vise sin egen frem, så jeg bed min usikkerhed i mig og nailede det fotoshoot! Intet mindre.
I had an appointment with my physiotherapist yesterday and due to back pain I haven’t been lifting for almost 3 weeks. We are not perfectly sure of what is causing the pain but one thing is sure, I need to gain some strength in the 2 lumbar segments where the pain is located. Therefore no lifting (including squats and pulls) for at least the next 3 weeks and I have to withdraw from Copenhagen Weightlifting Cup. Hopefully I’m going to be ready for the Danish National Championship at the end of February. Fingers crossed.
I’ve been doing great. Training has been great, strength improving and my technique as well. Until a couple of weeks ago when I suddenly got some pain in my lower back. I took an easy week lifting wise and the pain disappeared until a week ago when it came back. It’s not the perfect time considering I have a competition in January and the National championship in February but I have to give it some time to recover. Hopefully it will be fine soon! 2015 is going to be my year!
It’s been a while. I’m training, just not blogging (or bragging) about it Truth is I’ve had a tough autumn. Technique has been ridiculously bad, my strength has been non existing and therefore my brain has been a mess. I had a great spring with lots of personal records and an amazing competition in Germany. I took it easy all summer and got punished badly in september. When you really want something your brain is your biggest enemy and having bad months and good months in your training is the story of your life when you do something 110 %.
But here I am again, seeing light at the end of the tunnel (oh so poetic) and my technique and strength is slowly coming back to me. My next meet is january and I hope I can keep my expectations at a reasonable level. For now on I will give all I got in the training room.
Last friday I did a double at 65 kg in snatch from blocks. I’m getting closer to my previous level.
It’s a shaky jerk but it’s only 5 kg shy of my all time best.
I’ve decided to skip AL-Bank Cup this weekend. The reason is that I don’t feel ready to compete at all. The last months of training have been kind of weak and I’ve tried to work on my technique for a long term improvement. I will be back, stronger and better!
In the spring Spartan Mentality announced that they would host their success Coqs&Barbells again this year and I was overly excited when I figured they added Pussies&Pistols to the competition. Of course Julie and I decided to team up. We are both strong girls, we love to shout at each other without giving a shit about what people think Julie’s back have been giving her a hard time for several years, so to compete her back shouldn’t act up. Fortunately it has been really good for the last month and it seems that she found the cause of her back problems, so we were definitely going to compete! This saturday it went down. I didn’t feel ready but screw it, girls just want to have fun!
Sprint with a “zig zag” formation. First two runs were qualifiers for the semifinal. The 8 best teams went in to the semifinal and the 4 best teams from the semifinal ended in a final.
Julie and I had the best times in the first runs. In the final we were completely burned out but ended 4th place overall.
Grip strength – first part of the event was hanging in a pull up bar for time. Julie nailed that part. Second part of the event was to hold on an aggregate with 5 kg hanging on it for as long time as possible. Not sure how many points we got in this one.
Max snatch and max front squat (person 1 does the snatch, person 2 does the front squat). The snatch and front squat counted as 2 separate WODs and the total counted as a separate WOD.
We had three attempts each. Julie did (NAILED) the snatch part and she got 56 kg – 61 kg – 66 kg. That counted as a first place.
I got 112 kg in the front squat which was a second place. Lone Skyum powned me and did 115 kg She’s a beast.
Overall our total gave us another first place.

I was dying but managed to push myself hard which I’m pretty happy about. My hands were killing me on the rope climbs.

3 high deficit HSPU

6 medium deficit HSPU
Sled pull (heavy)
Julie never tried deficit HSPU’s before. She got one! I’m proud of her for keep trying. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have got a single one.
If you can’t beat them, look hot.
Prowler sprint with 50 kg on the prowler. Time: 39,8 s and first place. I had the worst crisis after event #4. Felt like I was hungover for 1,5 hour but I got THE pep talk from Julie and the we nailed it.
Event #6 – The Final
Going in to the final event we were 5 points ahead of the other teams. The final was a clean speed ladder like in the CrossFit Games 2014. The first heat was triples at 55 kg, 60 kg, 62,5 kg and 65 kg and the last heat would be heavier and with 4 singles only. Since I was still feeling pretty bad and Julie was on the roll, we agreed she should do first heat and I would do the last and heavier heat. (And I’m not good with triples )
There was a minor misunderstanding and we thought that the 4 best teams overall would go in to the final heat but we figured it was the 4 fastest teams in the first heat. Well well, I was a bit disappointed because I was excited to lift but what the hell. There was 10 minutes were we thought we had lost since we wasn’t in the final heat but after some calculations we realized we wouldn’t loose our first place. Lucky for us. We ended up winning the competition, we were more than happy and we had a great day. Julie is so friggin’ strong and she’s the best team buddy I could ever dream of.
Cowgirls From Hell (Julie and I) are competing in Aarhus next week. The competition consists of elements from olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, strongman and CrossFit Football. I love it!

FARMER WALK/PULL UPS
You go/I go, farmer walks and pull ups. One doing pull ups while the other on does farmer walk. Julie should do 40 pull ups and I should 20 since I suck so much at it. The one completing their pull ups first wins. Julie got 39, I got 20. Awesome to have a strong buddy to push you.
